Visualisations for Martial Arts Part 2

There has been an interesting experiment conducted in USA.
They taught a group of people how to strengthen certain muscles, and also taught them how to visualise them, then made them do visualisations strongly everyday about doing those exercises but not doing it physically.
After 3 months, they got an amazing result.

Meditation is the best way to develop the ability of visualisation.

The first step is to visualise all negative energy going out of your mind and body when you breath out, then positive energy is coming into your body when you breath in.

You have to breath very slowly, and harmonise with your stomach movement.

There are a lot of different stages of visualisation in Martial Arts meditation, such as making your body balance better, making your whole body a good sensor to make your body reflexes faster, and all your techniques more powerful, etc.

Why do we put that much emphasis on the visualisation in Martial Arts training?

First of all, it makes our concentration very strong.

For example, when we do the visualisation above with breathing.

Usually, we don’t have to think when we breath. It is automatic, so we are normally thinking something else when we breath, but if we connect with visualisation, we have to focus 100%, otherwise different things will keep coming into our mind.

Also, our subconscious mind can not tell the difference between reality or something we strongly visualise.

That’s why if we visualise something exciting or scary, our heart beat gets faster. If we visualise about sour food or something, our mouth gets watery.

So, when we get better with it and are able to visualise strongly, our body will move how we visualise, our body becomes how we visualise.

After 3 months, they got an amazing result.

Everyone got an average of 13.5% of muscles gain without doing any physical exercises.

That shows how powerful visualisation is.

I’m going to explain how to use this powerful ability for helping our everyday lives in the next blog.
