Evolve your spirit and body for a life time

Return to the centre

In our busy lives, our mind often wanders off everywhere, and we forget what we are aiming for, what we are actually trying to achieve, and what is the most important for us.

I often see in fights or sparring, people lose their balance after their punch and kick, or after their opponent’s punch and kick, then they get attacked, and they lose control of the fight too.

Keeping your balance is very important while you fight.

To keep your balance, you have to always keep your body over your centre.

Even if you lose balance for one second, try to return to the centre straight away.

To be able to do that, you have to know and feel where the centre is first.

In Martial Arts world, the centre of our body is called “TANDEN 丹田” (Lower part of stomach).

If you always focus on “TANDEN”, your body automatically sets your balance better.

All the ancient SAMURAI warriors techniques are always focused on this “TANDEN”.

So, their techniques were very balanced, fast, and powerful.

Try to focus on “TANDEN”, and keep the centre all the time in your everyday life too, so it becomes natural when you fight.

Keeping the centre is important not only physically but also mentally too.

In our busy lives, our mind often wanders off everywhere, and we forget what we are aiming for, what we are actually trying to achieve, and what is the most important for us.

Because in our modern society, we have too much information and too many choices.

If you feel your mind is wandering off, bring it back to the centre, reflect and focus on your core values.

If you know your deepest values and make it clear, you will feel you are more grounded, and feel happier.
